The Sauce Subscription is back and we had to kick things off with a bang! So, we hand-selected our favourite new discoveries of 2024. All these are staff favourites and we know that you’ll be over the moon with each bottle of sensational sauce which you receive.

Red Wine
Charles & Charles Post 35 Red Blend [£28]
- A beautifully constructed Cab Sav & Syrah blend from Washington state in the USA. Big, bold and uncompromising with a wonderful mix of fresh black fruit, sweet, spicy and earthy tasting notes. Read More.
A Mano Imprint Susumaniello [£23]
- A rich and aromatic red wine of Puglia, made entirely from the ancient native grape variety 'Susumaniello'. Look out for defined herbal notes, as well as bitter dark chocolate, blackberry and blueberry. Read More.
Nieto Senetiner Patrimonial Bonarda [£21]
- A full-bodied Argentinian red from 43 year old vines, (some of the oldest Bonarda vines in the Luján de Cuyo region of Mendoza). You'll experience notes of violet, tar, blackberry, sour cherry, plum and liquorice in this enticing offering. Read More.
Enoitalia Lignum Vitis [£19.50]
- A lovely blend of Frappato and Shiraz from Sicily is next on the list. It retains a palpable freshness, but the Shiraz also serves to add some body, texture and complexity. Fresh fruit flavours are integrated expertly with more unique notes of white pepper, almond, dark chocolate and marzipan. Read More.
Heidi Schröck & Söhne Rusterberg Zweigelt [£27]
- An elegant and silky Zweigelt, from a small family farmer Heidi Schröck's ten hectare vineyard in Austria, that is packed full of notes of sweet black cherries and cocoa. Read More.
Mas La Mola L'Expressió del Priorat [£31]
- A truly exquisite Catalonian red. Mas La Mola look to create Priorat reds which can be drank young and they've certainly achieved that goal. It is intense, with gripping tannins, yet it is balanced and boasts a wealth of fresh fruit flavours. Read More.
White Wine
Villa Raiano Falanghina [£25]
- A real favourite, of the G2G staff and customers alike, since it has arrived on our shelves. This carefully harvested Falanghina is awash with citrus kicks of white grapefruit and fresh citrus zest, as well as riper fruit flavours of mandarin and apricot. You should also look out for more subtle notes of hazelnut and white flower on the nose. A true delight. Read More.
Azevedo Vinho Verde [£16.50]
- The historic Quinta de Azevedo dates back to the 12th century, but they've absolutely nailed a real modern approach to the much beloved Vinho Verde. Herbaceous kicks of laurel and linden melt into intense notes of lime, lemon, pink grapefruit and white peach. Read More.
Soumah Yarra Valley Hexham Viognier [£32]
- An absolute must-try from this month's Sauce Sub. Soumah refers to this as their 'Goldie Lox' wine, as the hand-picked fruit must be harvested when the timing is 'just right'. They're clearly achieved this as the wine is truly exceptional and will provide you with some truly varied and exciting tasting. The most pronounced include ginger, apricot, lemon tart, pear, peach and orange. Read More.
Lani Wines Marlborough Gewürztraminer [£26]
- This next offering is certainly still a dry white wine, but it will no doubt appeal to those with a sweet tooth as it screams strong notes of Turkish Delight. Beyond that, it still delivers fresh fruit flavours of lychee, mandarin and mango, as well as subtle flecks of fresh ginger. Read More.
Maximin Grünhaus Maximin Pinot Blanc [£25]
- Now, we move onto an extraordinary Pinot Blanc from sixth-generation winemaker Maximin von Schubert. The hand-harvested grapes comes from the famous blue and red slate soil of the Mosel region which instil a powerful minerality and texture within this wine. It is also packed full of vibrant notes of kiwi, blossom, honeydew melon and banana. Read More.
Wildeberg Wines Apply Within Chenin Blanc [£24]
- The variety in how the grapes were processed really shines here. 20% of the wine was skin-fermented to add some body and complexity. Then, from the remaining 80% of the grapes - 40% is picked early for acidity and freshness, the other 40% is picked later and aged in large oak barrels to add complexity and some texture. The end result is a beautifully balanced and complex wine which shows off pronounced notes of citrus zest, golden pear, white grapefruit and candied limes, (among others). Read More.
