Here we go again ladies and gents, the Grape to Grain LIVE tastings continue apace!!! Tom and Baz...and sometimes Jen come to you LIVE....from Prestwich!! Tremendous wines, matched cheeses and a whole load of fun..In In is the new Out Out...Until we can be In whilst Out...shakin' it all about!
Our Friday and Saturday tastings start at 8pm :)
It's time for a pseudo holiday, G2G style! We're off on a road trip round our favourite footwear shaped nation state...I-T-A-L-I-A!! Whether its the taut, elegant reds from Piemonte or cultured, robust Appasimentos from Veneto...Puglian powerhouses or Siciian sensations...The Boot has it all!
Expect weepy screen sharing and long whistful monologues about how bummed out we are to still be stuck in the UK!!
The wines are delivered to your door, with matched cheeses and we then taste it together online, we will be live streaming on Facebook LIVE and of course on Zoom too!! Banging wines and 2 pillocks hosting...or 1 pillock and Barry...
The 'portions' are 100ml 'Tasters' and 500ml 'Carafes' or the imperious 'Full Bottle'. Pick the right size for you, your budget and how many guests you have.
All these are subject to change...but...here's the lineup!
- First up...Colterenzio Gewurtztraminer from Alto Adige, in Italy's far, far north. spicy and exotic, offering a mouthful of cloves, nutmeg, roses and lychees
- Next we head waaaay south, the island of Sicily, specifically the slopes of Mount Etna to taste the Donnafugata 'Sul Vulcano' Nerello Mascalese. Pale ruby red in the glass, this wine offers an elegant bouquet of wild berry notes, floral scents and delicate nuances of cinnamon and nutmeg
- Thirdly We head back up country to Tuscany to try Brunello's baby brother, the Campogiovanni Rosso di Montalcino. Warm and open, with ripe cherry, blackberry fruit combined with cedarwood and spice notes
- We finish on sugar and spice and all things nice with the Varvaglione 'Papale Oro' Primitivo. Rich, rounded red wine from Puglia in southern Italy, soft, highly flavoured and scented with forest fruits, cracked black pepper and a dollop of blackberry jam.
Serious wines, for (not very) serious folk...Should be an absolute spanker!!
