Here we go again ladies and gents, the Grape to Grain LIVE tastings continue apace!!! Tom and Baz...and sometimes Jen come to you LIVE....from Prestwich!! Tremendous wines, matched cheeses and a whole load of fun..In In is the new Out Out...Until we can be In whilst Out...shakin' it all about!
Also now starting at 8pm!!! :)
Its head to head time!! 3 styles, 2 combatants per style...there can only be 1 winner...(well...3 i guess...) We often get asked what's better Old World or New World, the truth is there is no correct answer to that question...but we are PROFESSIONALS...we will give the question and the wine the time, energy and whomping it deserves! Let no one say we don't do our part! We will be pitting an Old World and New World example of each style against one another and YOU will decide which rocks it harder!
The wines are delivered to your door, with matched cheeses and we then taste it together online, we will be live streaming on Facebook and Instagram LIVE and of course on Zoom too!! Banging wines and 2 pillocks hosting...or 1 pillock and Barry...
The 'portions' are 100ml 'Tasters' and 500ml 'Carafes' or the imperious 'Full Bottle'. Pick the right size for you, your budget and how many guests you have.
Without further ado...here are the wines for this week;
- We start off with a Chardonnay...obviously...in the blue corner wearing the red, white and blue shorts from the Macon region in the south of Burgundy, France is Mâcon-Igé 'Château London'! In the red corner, wearing the...also red, white and blue shorts from Casablanca in Chile is Montes 'Alphaaaaaaaa' Chardonnaaaaay!
- Next up is a Heavy weight bout for the ages...Zinfandel vs Primitivo!! Both rock some pronounced acidity and residual sugar, both grew up on the mean streets...will it be the Imprint Primitivo Appassito from Puglia or the De Loach ‘Heritage Collection’ Zinfandel from Cali?!?!
- Finally...We finish on one for the history books - both undefeated, both big talkers out side the ring! Its Shiraz/Syrah...there can only be one winner!! We start with the classy, powerful Maison les Alexandrins Crozes-Hermitage Rouge...a Northern Rhone classic. Up against them is the rough and ready brawler from down under, the S.C. Pannell ‘Field Street’ McLaren Vale Shiraz. Only one thing is for certain...there will be some stained lips after this one!!
Serious wines, for (not very) serious folk...Should be an absolute spanker!!
