Here we go again ladies and gents, the Grape to Grain LIVE tastings continue apace!!! Tom and Baz...and sometimes Jen come to you LIVE....from Prestwich!! Tremendous wines, matched cheeses and a whole load of fun..In In is the new Out Out...Until we can be In whilst Out...shakin' it all about!
Our Friday and Saturday tastings start at 8pm, this tasting will begin at 4pm :)
It's Mother's Day on the 14th March, but the Sunday before is International Women's Day, so we thought we would mark these two days by celebrating some female wine makers crafting amazing wines all over the world. We shall also be donating between £5 and £10 from each ticket sold to a couple of Women's charities.
There are two groups of charities we wish to donate to; one that helps women in peril, and one that helps empower women. So we shall be donating to a charity that supports women's refuges helping sufferers of domestic violence and abuse escape unsafe circumstance exacerbated by COVID, and one that works internationally to help provide educational opportunities to young girls to lift them out of poverty. We don't want to name them UNTIL we have their permission as the link to alcohol may be problematic, and we don't want that link to mean that these worthy charities don't end up getting the money we hope to raise.
We have been lucky enough to have meet the maker sessions with a whole host of super talented winemakers, and 3 out of the 4 to date have been female. Jody Bogle in Cali, Elena Brooks at Dandelion and Marilisa Allegrini from Veneto in Italy. Now its time to shine the light on a few more leading ladies.
The wines are delivered to your door, with matched cheeses and we then taste it together online, we will be live streaming on Facebook LIVE and of course on Zoom too!! Banging wines and 2 pillocks hosting...or 2 pillocks and Jen...
The 'portions' are 100ml 'Tasters' and 500ml 'Carafes' or the imperious 'Full Bottle'. Pick the right size for you, your budget and how many guests you have.
All these are subject to change...but...here's the lineup!
- First up the Ata Rangi`Raranga' Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc (ve) made by Helen Masters from down Nu Zillun way.
- Secondly is the Planeta Rose Sicilia (ve) made by Francesca Planeta in Menfi, Sicily.
- We finish with the eponymously named Heidi Schröck, `Junge Löwen` Burgenland Blaufränkisch/St. Laurent (ve) made by Heidi in South Eastern Austria.
