Here we go again ladies and gents, the Grape to Grain LIVE tastings continue apace!!! Tom and Baz...and sometimes Jen come to you LIVE....from Prestwich!! Tremendous wines, matched cheeses and a whole load of fun..In In is the new Out Out...Until we can be In whilst Out...shakin' it all about!
Also now starting at 8pm!!! :)
Its Beaujolais Nouveau Day falls on the third Thursday of November every year, it is a celebration of the grape Gamay produced in the Beaujolais region just south of Burgundy. Wine flows from the fountains in the town centres, people swim in the stuff...its mental!
We will be trying a bunch of light reds made in the 'Beaujolais style'. Finishing with some Beaujolais Nouveau..the 2020 vintage straight from the winery!!
The wines are delivered to your door, with matched choccies and we then taste it together online, we will be live streaming on Facebook and Instagram LIVE and back on Zoom too!! Banging wines and 2 pillocks hosting...or 1 pillock and Barry...
The 'portions' are 100ml 'Tasters' and 500ml 'Carafes' or the imperious 'Full Bottle'. Pick the right size for you, your budget and how many guests you have.'
Without further ado...here are the wines for this week;
- We are stating off with a fav round these parts the Uva Non Grata Gamay! Bouncy, crunchy Gamay, this no-fuss wine is an irresistible fruit bomb packed with amazing primary fruit aromas, delicious soft red berry flavours and a note of dark chocolate. Gorgeous Gamay at its best.
- Next up is an English wine...the By Golly Nouveau produced in Hereford, this early release Pinot Noir made in partnership with the Sixteen Ridges Vineyard has bags of fresh raspberry, cherry and violet. Crafted to be drunk and enjoyed right now!
- Third we have another Frenchie Les Pivoines Beaujolais Villages, an exhuberant fruity red wine with juicy crushed strawberries, cherry characters and an intriguing savoury twist. The palate is soft and approachable with vibrant acidity and a mouthwatering floral, morello cherry finish. Whole bunch Gamay is fermented using traditional carbonic maceration techniques
- Finally...We finish on a a legit Beaujolais Nouveau! The Louis Tête 'Le Pot' Beaujolais Nouveau 2020...Previous vintages have been such beautiful wines. First instances of pear and raspberry with a slight herby/grassy note. Followed by cassis. Best served slightly chilled. Like adult cordial. We will see how the 2020 vintage pans out...hopefully better then the rest of 2020!
Serious wines, for (not very) serious folk...Should be an absolute spanker!!
