Here we go again ladies and gents, the Grape to Grain LIVE tastings continue apace!!! Tom and Baz...and sometimes Jen come to you LIVE....from Prestwich!! Tremendous wines, matched cheeses and a whole load of fun..In In is the new Out Out...Until we can be In whilst Out...shakin' it all about!
Our Friday and Saturday tastings start at 8pm :)
As I'm writing this at the start of February, its snowy/sleety, freezing cold and miserable, and just the act of creating this Spring Has Sprung tasting is lifting my flagging spirits. The sun getting stronger, the days getting longer, flowers starting to come out in force, the feeling the world is born anew...Spring is an intoxicating season and for us it signals so much more...the wines we choose start to change!!
Out with the heavy, spicy, oaky reds...they'll come back when we start barbecuing later in summer! In come light, effervescent, energetic whites and roses. We start looking forward to summer holidays and after the last 12/18 months by F**K we need that. So we are dipping our toes, in hope and anticipation that the end of March will deserve these wines...and even if it doesn't, we are putting on some summery clothes and bloody well pretending anyway.
The wines are delivered to your door, with matched cheeses and we then taste it together online, we will be live streaming on Facebook LIVE and of course on Zoom too!! Banging wines and 2 pillocks hosting...or 2 pillocks and Jen...
The 'portions' are 100ml 'Tasters' and 500ml 'Carafes' or the imperious 'Full Bottle'. Pick the right size for you, your budget and how many guests you have.
All these are subject to change...but...here's the lineup!
- First up a wine Tom drank by the bucketful on a trip to Sardegna a couple of 10 COVID years ago...Antonella Corda Vermentino di Sardegna.
- Secondly IT'S THE FIRST ROSE OF THE YEEEEAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!! Château Beaulieu 'Cuvée Alexandre' Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence Rosé...If its the first of the year, of course it's a bloody Provence Rose...
- We finish with the Felicette Grenache Noir from the Languedoc in South West France.
We are also throwing in our fav EVER Spring time wine...its a bit fizzy, not proper fizzy, but still a bit so we can only send by the full bottle as a bonus if you so wish. Otherwise it would be the first wine on our springtime wine wish list every time...;
- Its the ultimate mood changer, the Quinta de Lixa Vinho Verde from Northern Portugal.
Serious wines, for (not very) serious folk...Should be an absolute spanker!!
