Who/What/How:
- The Mitolo Winery comes from the Italian Mitolo family who arrived in Australia during the 1950s. This Italian influence is clear as, even today, they still produce wines from the Vermentino and Sangiovese grape varieties. Yet, they still create the wines which are quintessentially Australian. You can find plenty of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz vines on the Mitolo estate.
Taste:
- Mitolo Jester Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, oaked red wine that doesn't overwhelm the intense notes from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. Look out for notes of blackcurrant, black cherry and ripe blackberries, as well as notes of dark chocolate and just whispers of tobacco, sage, leather and cola. It has defined tannins with some real grip. Yet, the velvety texture and high acidity helps to balance this out perfectly.
