This southern French variety has been planted in southern Chile for well over 100 years, but has only recently been making wines as good as this juicy, peppery and wonderfully vibrant red.
A lively ruby red colour. The nose shows an ample blend of fresh red fruits and blueberries, hints of caramel, candied apples, sweet spices, floral notes and a subtle touch of tobacco. Smooth on the palate with light tannins, a delicate body and a juicy, fresh finish.
Upon arrival at the winery the fruit was processed in three ways; one third was whole cluster fermented, one third was destemmed and crushed, and the last third was destemmed, crushed, and the stems added into the fermentation. Fermentation took place in open-top fermenters. The wine was then aged in third-use barrels for four months and lightly filtered prior to bottling.
