An intriguing Vermentino from Bolgheri. Looking to create a wine that was concentrated, elegant and ageworthy, Allegrini planted a very specific Vermentino clone from Corsica. The result is a drinkable white wine with great ageing potential. This bright straw yellow wine has aromas of acacia blossom, yellow plums and subtle grapefruit. Medium bodied, the palate is refined and succulent with refreshing acidity and delicate apricot on the finish. The grapes were hand harvested and sorted on arrival at the winery. The whole grapes were then gently pressed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at approximately 16° C for 20 days. No malolactic fermentation took place and the wine remained in tank on its lees until bottling.
