Who/What/How:
- A Tuscan classic, not to be confused with the Montepulciano of Abruzzo, from one of the historic producers of Vino Nobile - Tenuta Valdipiatta. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is from the Tuscan town of Montepulciano and Italy's oldest D.O.C.G.. The Valdipiatta offering has spent 15-18 months in French oak, before spending a further 6 months in the bottle.
Taste:
- A truly exceptional wine to rival the best of Chianti. It mixes the fruit and fragrant, with the refined and savoury. Pure notes of red cherry, red currant, red plum and strawberry persist in this wine, (even with 7 years of age). However, the savoury and spicy notes have become more powerful. You will note flavours of cooked plum, fig, dark chocolate, liquorice, black pepper and a certain umami character. Intensely flavourful and enticingly complex.
