This week;

It's World Champagne Day!! Barry's spiritual home is around Epernay in North West France..this tasting is 100% his vibe! Full bottle only, for obvious reasons, we will be chinning 3 superb sparkling drops, each paired with a RUDEBOI cheese from our new supplier I.J. Mellis Farmhouse Cheeses. This is the creme de la bloody creme of a tasting...get your pals round, crack some epic champagne and Baz will show you whats what!!

The wines are delivered to your door, with matched cheeses and we then taste it together online, we will be live streaming on Facebook and Instagram LIVE and back on Zoom too!! Banging wines and 2 pillocks hosting...or 1 pillock and Barry...

This can only be purchased in Full Bottle format as we can't decant fizzy wizzy.

Without further are the wines for this week;

 - First up is a great example of what Champagne can be, when separated from 'Les Grand Marques', the Alfred Gratien Brut NV. Non Vintage is not a slur, and in fact this wine benefits from both extensive cellar ageing and a decent amount of reserve wine content. All 3 grapes in evidence, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier...complex yet clean!
 - Following that we are going for a Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay), specifically the Lallier Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs!! It combines the magic of the Ay terroir with the elegance of the Côte des Blancs. Blanc de Blancs are restrained and elegant when young, yet with ageing it develops a mouth-coating brioche richness that overlays an intense expression of fruitiness
 - We finish with a Blanc de Noirs (100% Pinot Noir) expression which tend to be deeper and more itense, but not just that a Vintage too...Vintages are only released when the winemakers feel the fruit is as good as can be...2009 was a bumper with many other houses, including Bollinger, releasing a Vintage as well. We are tasting the Gremillet Blanc de Noirs Vintage 2009!!

Serious wines, for (not very) serious folk...Should be an absolute spanker!!
