Brand: G. D. Vajra
Grapes: Nebbiolo
Vintage: 2022
ABV: 14%
Who/What/How:
- The Vajra family are based in the village of Vergne, which sits just above the town of Barolo. They have 10 hectares of vines in the actual Barolo region, but this particular wine comes from just outside this area. Although, it is made from the exact same grape variety so, fans of Barolo should check this elegant and beautifully crafted wine out!
Taste:
- Perfumed and powerful, yet with a palpable and persistent acidity. It typifies everything you'd want from a good Barolo. You'll get hit with aromas of rose, tar and leather right off the bat, before these give way to intense notes of strawberry, raspberry and red cherry. This is perfectly drinkable in its youth, but could also be cellared for 5-10 years.
