Who/What/How:
- The Quinta de Azevedo estate dates all the way back to the founding of Portugal in the 12th century, with the property’s striking tower being considered one of the ‘most monumental’ towers in Portugal. Today, Fernando Guedes looks to retain this medieval aesthetic alongside modern winery practices and equipment which can help to produce the best wines possible.
Taste:
- All grapes were harvested at night to ensure maximum freshness and careful crushing was carried out under the protection of inert gasses to prevent any oxidation and cool fermented with Quinta de Azevedo’s own yeast strains. This preserves a palpable acidity, along with fresh flavours of linden, laurel, lime, lemon, pink grapefruit and white peach.
