Who/What/How:
- In 1845, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited Hochheim and had such a penchant for the wines that the vineyard became name 'Königin Victoriaberg'. It has been a mainstay of the Royal family since then and has been served at Royal events as recently as 2017. The Joachim Flick Winery itself is an estate which has a history spanning back over 700 years.
Taste:
- Here, with the Joachim Flick Königin Victoriaberg Kabinett Riesling, we have an elegant and subtly sweet Riesling that typifies everything great about fine German wine. A touch of residual sugar brings out the ripe fruit flavours of apricot and peach, as well as a touch of body and texture on the palate. It is sweet, but not cloying as the acidity brings balance to this expertly structured wine. You'll also note classical Riesling notes of rubber, white flowers and tart fresh lime juice. An all round delight.
