Who/What/How:
- The small Acerenza cooperative was taken over in 2008 and left under the stewardship of consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini. Alberto fell in love with the area, which seemed to be stuck in time - several centuries ago. The vines sit 800m above sea level on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture which are perfect for the Aglianico grape variety.
Taste:
- Vigneti del Vulture Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture is bright ruby red in colour, with violet reflections. On the nose, there are intense aromas of cherry, violets and cocoa. Full-bodied, this wine has a sweet red fruit character with delicate oak nuances of vanilla and spice on the long finish.
